Road to 60

Since the Foundation’s establishment, it has made great strides in improving higher education access, supporting 9,500 students through loans, scholarships, programmes and assistance. As a nation, Malaysia has also made significant progress in higher education, with enrolment rates increasing by 70% from 2002 to 2012.

Renewed Vision and Mission
Higher education continues to shape a young person’s earning potential, but is no longer sufficient in itself to guarantee socioeconomic mobility and success. Young people today face far greater challenges, including rising income inequality, climate change, and a rapidly evolving job market, all within a more ideologically polarised world that has shifted away from the ideals of unity and compassion.
Now more than ever, organisations like YTAR must use the emerging challenges of the future as a catalyst to reimagine how we can support and develop young people today—not just to access higher education but to thrive and contribute to society and build a better future for everyone. Hence, the Foundation revamped its strategy in 2019 in 4 key areas:

Mission

To achieve this vision, the Foundation is now on a mission to empower high-potential and deserving youths with the capital, opportunities, skills and values to shape better futures for themselves, communities and Malaysia.

Vision

The Foundation strives to be a sustainable institution dedicated to achieving a progressive, equitable and inclusive society where every young person will achieve their full potential in service of the nation.

”
We must each always think first of Malaysia, of the national need and least of ourselves. Everyone must try to help and see that the people are one-minded, with loyalty and one aim, to make Malaysia – the land we love – a happy abode for all of us.
