Closing The Gap

A 2-year mentoring programme that focuses on providing secondary school students from under-represented households with the skills, knowledge, and mindsets to enter ambitious universities.

Closing The Gap

Transitioning into Higher Education

Closing
The Gap

Secondary school students from under-represented backgrounds face monumental barriers to gain access to higher education. At the Foundation, we acknowledge that these barriers can look like the lack of skills, knowledge, opportunities, and adequate financial means.

Initially, an independent programme,  Closing The Gap (CTG) was acquired by the Foundation in 2019 to bridge the higher education access gap.

CTG supports secondary school students from under-represented backgrounds through a structured mentoring programme that equips them with the mindset, skills and knowledge to reach their higher education aspirations.

What Do We Focus On?

The Closing The Gap programme focuses on equipping Scholars with the necessary mindset, skills and knowledge to access higher education.

Skills

Our structured programme ensures our Scholars receive bespoke support that is crucial for their growth and sets them up for success at higher education institutions.

Mentoring

Each Scholar is assigned a personal Mentor who will guide them in navigating through their higher education planning and personal growth for 2 years. Our Mentors are volunteers from diverse professional and academic backgrounds.
